The Institute of Telematics (ITM) is active in the research field of protocols, algorithms, and applications for communication in Networks and Distributed Systems: ITM focuses on support of modern structures like wireless sensor networks and Ad-Hoc-Networks in the context of Mobile and Pervasive Computing as well as middleware concepts for Web Services and Grid Computing. Applications of special interest comprise the deployment of wireless Ad-Hoc-Networks in a wide range of applications from healthcare to civil protection.
